Hey guys!

Sorry its been like a really long time since Ive wrote. Things are busy over here, and I havent quite mastered typing. Anyways, things are awesome here in Quezon Hill Ward. The members are awesome, strong, and we have some cool investigators. One is named Salvador, the Sisters actually found him in their area, but they cant teach him because there usaully isnt any women around, so they gave him to us. he has already come to church like 4X, but he has a slight obstacle of WoW, so we will help him with that. He really likes Church, he says that "magadang pakiramdam" which means good/beautiful/nice feelings. (yes there are a lot of meanings to that word) We had another investigator named Brian that asked when he could get baptized, so we gave him a date, and then he got a job at McDonald's, so he might move to Dagumpan or Manila, someplace far. Satan really works full time to stop the work from progressing. He is still way cool, but because his schedule changed we can't teach him that often anymore. So thats some of the kool guys we've met and are progressing, Things are great being a missionary. I get to see miracles everyday, and get to spread the love of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ sa lahat. I love this church, for the Gospel it bears and the hope of an eternal family. I love you guys, hope you are all doing well wherever you are.

Richard's camera just sent us pics, which means he was close and connected to WiFi...the first time his camera has been able to do this since the MTC!  What a joy to get random pictures of my boy!

We saw a pic of Richard playing basketball a couple of months ago and we all wondered if it was a banana on his shirt, but we weren't sure...but this picture proves he does indeed have a banana shirt...

Two Americans feeling patriotic on the Fourth of July!  God Bless the USA!

This is quite a waterfall...Wow!

hello guys,

Sorry I didnt write last week, Ive been busy. I had a few cool experiences this week. We have been doing a lot of finding, and that means we met people of all sorts of beliefs and ideas about our Heavenly Father. We met this one guy who asked us what was the most important part of our message. We said that Jesus Christ lives, he said "Amen, lets sit down and talk about Him." Well, it turns out he is a Baptist preacher, and a kinda preached to us about how our salvation is free, as long as we have faith, and that we didn't need works. (He ignored our James 2:17 reference) but then in the same sentence, he told us that we needed to repent, so I think his defintion of works was a little bit off. Then, there is a lot of one certain church around here that are pretty stalwart in their beliefs. I actually kinda admire them for their firmness, but at the same time i'm pretty depressed because it is of course, the wrong church. I wont go into what they believe, but needless to say Im so grateful for the Book of Mormon, and its purpose. There are two ways that I would like to share real quick. 1) it clariefies doctrines in the Bible. (ex. 2 Nephi 25:23 for my example) Then 2) It testifies that God has indeed called again a prophet in this Dispension. No other church has the Book of Mormon, And no other Church can make the claim we make, because there is no other true church. So my testimony and gratitude was really strengthened this week for the BoM. if you ever have any questions, turn to the Book of Mormon. It is the most true book in our time, and a symbol of God's love. People of different faiths aren't bad people, they are just doing the best they can with the Bible. I hope you all search a little more deeply this week, because sometimes we often underestimate the power within. take care this week,

hey guys

Sorry if its been a while, and this is going to be short, but I just wanted to share a little about whats going on. My current companion is a really good missionary, and hes teaching me a lot. This sunday we had two families come to church for the first time! We have yet to go back to them, but Im learning a lot about how to follow up mostly. This is the biggest difference that Ive seen so far in my short mission. If our investigators dont read, we spend time to teach the importance of reading. if they dont pray, we explain the importance of prayer. If they dont come to church, we explain the importance of coming to church. A good follow up means that you meant your invitation. Our Father in Heaven gave us an invitation to become as He is, with a whole plan set laid out. Right now, we are in the midst of that plan, awaiting that follow up, which is at that last Judgement, where each person will be accountable for their thoughts, words, and actions. As stated in Alma 34:33, this life is for us to prepare for eternity. That means our Father in Heaven is serious about the follow up. This may be taking it to a huge scale, but I think the principle is the same.We have been invited, we are currently working out our salvation( and a loving father has giving us everything we need to succeed.) and at the follow up, if we kept the commandments, and lived as we were supposed to, we will receive eternal life. In other words, a blessings. When teaching an investigator, the invitation is the same, (repent and come unto Christ and follow His Gospel) but the blessings are a little bit different and the time frame is obviously a little bit shorter. I hope I inspired you guys a bit, to think about life, and search for answers out of my poor explanation. But the Gospel is true, and I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer. I hope you all have a great week.

Kumusta kayo!

So this week has been fast. I cant remember how much I told you guys last time soI Ill review real quick. Ive been transfered to Quezon hill ward, La Trinidad Zone, Baguio city. Its kindda chilly up here, and it rains a little bit like everyday.

My new companion is Elder Almajeda, and he was my first zone leader (the other already went home) This is his last transfer, so he has a lot of experience, and Im learning tons from him. its fun up here, but we work hard too. I dont know exactly what happened, but we basically are opening an area, so there is a lot of finding going on.

We only have a few solid investigators, but we they are progressing. Hopefully this week will be better. Yesterday and Saturday we had stake conference, so we were at the stake center. That was awesome, but also kinda weird because it was like almost all in English. people here are good at English. A lot of kids here in the ward have a hard time understanding Tagalog, so its really awesome listening them speak in English.

The members here are solid, and there is a lot of new people to meet. Its great being a regular missionary, we have more time to work. I love the work, I love teaching, and I love sharing the message I know to be true. Its hard to describe what it really does(the Gospel) but thats one reason we have the Spirit. I hope you guys all have a great week

Its really pretty here in naguilian, especially in the farther areas, hard to work, but it makes it nicer.

Hey guys,

This week has been a good one. We had the opportunity to watch conference, i always feel pumped after watching them. Ronald, our investigator in the wheel chair, is still going strong. He is showing  improvement in his ability to move around, hes still got a little bit to go before he doen't need the wheelchair, but he keeps reading the Aklat ni mormon. Super awesome. Then, Elder Navaroo and I went to Magunganay, our farthest area. We pushed our bikes up the mountain, found a carpenter shop on top, (nice people) went down the mounatian (Here is where we found out that the brake on Elder Navarros bike is pretty bad.) then we went up anther mountain, not as big as the first, then back down, then thats magunganay. When I was with Elder Smith, hes never been there, and that was my first time. Really nice place, but really far. There is one recent convert over there, but we didn't find him. He moved from Bauang or San Fernando. Hard to get out there. this week went by fast, but the mission life is fun. I hope you all go back and review the words of the living prophets and Apostles, because there words are just as much scripture as the DoC, Book of Mormon, and Bible (when translated correctly) I hope you all have a great week.
